Class Descriptions
Toddlers/Preschool
Creative Movement for ages 18mo – 2 years
Through creative dance, students will explore various ways to move their bodies through space; they will begin to learn personal and general space awareness, beginner ballet dance terms and movements as well as locomotor and non locomotor movements which will encourage each child to creatively express themselves through space and in a safe and friendly environment. These classes are taught in 10-week sessions.
Dance Discovery for ages 3-5 years
Students will build upon their learnings of Butterfly Ballet which includes a more structured dance class (warmup, center floor, free dance, across the floor, and the learning of choreography). Ballet and Jazz steps and terminology will be taught in an age-appropriate way which will encourage each child to develop their knowledge of dance and build confidence in these dance genres. Most students will participate in our Season Finale-our goal for this performance (and each class) is to create a safe space where each student feels comfortable performing in front of their peers and family/friends as well as being a positive audience member for their fellow classmates.

Ages 18+
Adult Ballet is currently offered once a week. Students of all experience and levels are invited and welcome, though the class is taught at a beginner/intermediate level. Our teachers are experienced in working with all level adult dancers and cater the class level to the dancers in the room. Don’t worry, whether it’s been a few years since you’ve put your ballet shoes on or it’s your very first time, this class will be suitable for you!
* Adult Ballet dancers do not have a required dress code. We do ask that all dancers wear ballet slippers, or socks. Please wear comfortable clothes you can move freely in, and keep your hair tied back away from the face. Although this class is designed for the adult dancer, we still offer corrections on body placement and encourage everyone to wear clothes that allow the teacher to see the alignment of the body. We understand and respect everyone’s comfort levels are different, so please speak to the teacher if you have any questions or concerns!
